The Olive Trees

Our Olive grove, consisting of trees of the most common sicilian varieties of Cerasuola (80%), Nocellara del Belice (10%) and Biancolilla (10%), covers a hill characterized by a varied soil types (loamy, calcareous and clay). Thanks to the particular mild climate, the altitude of about 300 meters and the proximity to the sea, the olive oil extracted from our olives takes a unique taste and high level organoleptic features.

The harvest 2017 was one of the best of the last 10 years: the abundance of olives and their good health allowed us to produce a top quality extra virgin olive oil.

Elios vineyard

The Vineyard

Our vineyard covers 10 hectares of different types of soil (loamy, calcareous and clay) located between the territories of Alcamo (Trapani) and Camporeale (Palermo), at an average altitude of 250-400 meters above sea level. In these lands we grow 3 typical grape varieties of our land: Grillo (white grape), Zibibbo (white grape) and Nero d'Avola (red grape).

2017 was a good year, characterized by very healthy grapes and the excellent chemical and physical parameters (sugar level, acidity, tannins).

For the production of WHITE AND RED WINE for our label MODUS BIBENDI, we used only selected hand harvested grapes, winemaking naturally (without the addition of synthetic chemicals) 50 hectoliters of Grillo and 50 hectoliters of Nero d'Avola.

Elios bees

Our apiary is placed on a hill at an altitude of 300 meters, located in the territory of Alcamo, 3 km from the sea.

In the land located around the apiary, mostly uncultivated, the bees are able to graze on a various flowering of "Daisy" and "Spanish esparcet" in March, of "Thistle" in April, of "Dill" in June and of "Eucalyptus" in July. These great floral varieties allow us to extract a high quality MILLFLOWERS honey and sometimes even small amounts of single-floral honey.
